Why is Traumatic Brain Injury Data So Important?

TBIs are serious and affect tens of millions of people worldwide. They occur when there is a sudden trauma to the head, such as a bump or blow, that disrupts the normal functioning of the brain. Depending on the severity of the injury, TBI can result in a range of symptoms, including headaches, dizziness, difficulty thinking, memory loss, seizures, and changes in mood or behavior. In some cases, TBI can be life-threatening or result in long-term disabilities. The effects can be devastating and long-lasting, impacting cognitive, physical, and emotional functions, seriously impacting the person’s daily life in every aspect. TBIs can affect anyone, from athletes to veterans; grandparents to babies, everyday people going about their daily lives, regardless of age or background. They can be caused by a variety of factors, including falls, car accidents, assaults, and sports-related injuries. Click here for more information about TBI.

Here are some FACTS, not beliefs about TBI:

About Us

How Does Sallie™ & Power of Patients® Work Beyond Individual Patient Use?

Why track your data on a digital platform?

You can access your portal easily wherever you have internet access, meaning you don’t have to keep track of a single notebook or worry about forgetting to pack it for all of your appointments. Your data is at your fingertips, so you can review it or enter new data at any time. We understand that the healthcare industry can be complex and overwhelming, but we are here to simplify things and put control back in your hands.

By having this data recorded digitally, you can also give your medical team 24/7 access to seeing the data. (Note: only members of your medical team that you invite to share your data will be able to do this.) The beauty of our model is that patients are at the center of it all. You can invite any and all of your providers to view your data, creating a hub-and-spoke design that empowers patients and providers alike. And Sallie™ is there every step of the way, BARKING at providers to alert them when patients are getting worse and FETCHING data and patients for the advancement of research.

Join Our Digital Health Tech Community & Portal

Take charge of your health & advocate for your outcomes!

By tracking your own data, you can help yourself, contribute to the wider audience of researchers and the medical community studying traumatic brain injuries, and even help save lives. Personalized data can help doctors with value-based care, but more importantly, it can improve your outcomes and quality of life.

Our platform offers more than just tracking tools for patients and caregivers. Additionally, you will be providing data (anonymously) to the world of TBI research, which isn’t possible with a pen-and-paper data collecting system. We are also building a unique data warehouse of patient-reported symptom and trigger data that can be used by researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals to design targeted clinical trials, fund services where patients need them most, and recruit appropriate patients for clinical trials.

To explain the level of personalization we provide, we have discovered over 1,000 unique, new symptoms through our patient-led portal, and we have just begun to mathematically score the impact of your injury, in other words, we can compute just how bad that “bump on your head really is”. With these discoveries and more on the horizon, we will be able to shift the mindset of the public to better understand the impact TBI has upon the lives of TBI patients and their families ultimately benefiting patients and the medical community alike.
